As far as particle size analyzers are concerned, the significance of reproducibility evaluation is as follows:
1. Understand the long-term stability of the instrument;
2. Evaluate the stability of the sampling method;
3. Evaluate the degree of standardization of the operation;
4. Evaluate the consistency of instrument parameter settings;
5. Evaluate the impact of the environment on the instrument.
Standard samples should be used for reproducibility evaluation. Standard samples can be certified particle size standard samples, working standard samples attached to the instrument, or products retained by the user and verified to be qualified. But no matter which sample is used, it is necessary to ensure that the sample is stable and does not change.
Reproducibility is generally evaluated every three months. The results of this evaluation are compared with the previous results. If the reproducibility is within the error tolerance, it means that there are no changes in the instrument, sampling, operation, parameters and environment. The results measured by the instrument are objective and valid; otherwise, the cause must be found and dealt with.
